I live close by in the neighborhood, and often walk around perusing the local shops and restaurants around the grocery store to try and patronize the smaller shops in the area, since I have a work from home job and have an urge to go walking outside during lunch, one day I visited The Cake Queen and Coffee Bar, which is closed on certain weekdays, but fortunately open the day that I visited. Being Filipino, I was drawn to the Ube Latte drink, which according to the menu looked like one of the most popular drinks. There were two parties ahead of me, all either ordering multiple Ube Lattes, or cakes to share at some sort of event, so I knew this place was popular. Once I ordered the service was relatively quick and the staff was friendly. A majority of the space looks like a commercial kitchen but the area near the doorway has deserts available for you to look at. The presentation of the Ube latte was very presentable, and I was able to enjoy this amazing drink while walking home, I was able to have a great lunch, a good Ube latte AND was able to get some good steps in during my lunch as well. I highly encourage you to stop by The Cake Queen & Bar for either deserts or a quick drink stop!

While the regular cashier lady isn't too friendly to us even though we are regulars, we still love going there! She greets us with a stoic face like here they are again ha ha - maybe I'm just reading her wrong, but we are still nice to her. Yes, it is a bit pricey sometimes but we love supporting our small local businesses. The Nutella pies are the best! Yummmmy!

Came by on a whim as I was in the mood for something sweet. I love that this place has specialty pastries - I stocked up on a few different items and slowly enjoyed them over the next few days. Items I tried: * Ube cheese roll * Guava pastellito * Beef empanada * Chocolate croissant * Pepperoni pizza pastry * Oreo cupcake Everything I tried was delicious but the ube cheese and guava pastellito hold a special place in my heart. I saw that they also had a Trunchbull chocolate cake here which I thought was awesome - my fellow millenials should get the reference. I also tried a hot horchata latte during my trip which was good and not too sweet. Tasted like a vanilla chai. They provide stamp cards here so you get a free drink after you accrue a certain amount.

I recently moved to SSF and found this hidden gem on my daily run! Lived their cookie butter cupcake My husband isn't much of a sweets person but I brought home horchata cupcakes and he was in love!!! I have been checking in periodically by phone and in person to see if they have in store again but they hadn't had any since that day until this past week . Hehe I bought the batch anywho , definitely recommend for a sweet tooth stop. I actually didn't know about their cake designs until I followed their instagram and WOWWW what beautiful work. The ladies at the front are also so amicable and pleasant to talk to very welcoming . I love this place just wish they'd open earlier so I can stop by for their coffee specialties before work but definitely understand their hours as well! Congratulations cake queen your love for bakery that goes into your work is evident in every bite.
